Rooty is a platform designed to help low-income BCIT students offer their professional skills to other BCIT students to freelance/tutor in exchange for money, credit for their work, and/or an exchange of equal service. This app was built using Next.js, MUI, and JavaScript, with authentication provided by NextAuth.
During my time working on Rooty, I collaborated with a team of developers and designers, with weekly meetings and standups to discuss progress and prioritize tasks. We utilized various technologies to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow, such as Slack for messaging, Trello for project management, and GitHub for version control.
As a developer on the team, my primary focus was on implementing and refining the platform’s features, including the ability for users to create and view posts for different freelancing and tutoring services.
